A1 LIGHT LICENCE :- AGE 17 and over

Pass 2 part practical test on a bike between 120cc and 125cc and not exceeding 11kw. You can now ride up to 125cc (11kw), without L plates and carry passengers.

A2 LICENCE :- Age 19 and over

Pass 2 part practical test on a bike at least 395cc and between 25kw to35kw . You can now ride any motorcycle not exceeding 35kw without L plates and carry passengers.

A LICENCE :- Age 21 to 23

If you are between the age of 21 to 23 and have held the full A2 licence for more than 2 years, you can pass the 2 part practical test on a motorcycle at least 595cc and a minimum of 50kw and can then ride any size motorcycle.

A LICENCE :- Age 24 and over

Pass 2 part practical test on a motorcycle at least 595cc and a minimum of 50kw. You can now ride any size motorcycle without L plates and carry passengers.
